San Jacinto Mall, off of I-10 in Baytown, TX, is one of the busiest shopping destinations in the Baytown area of Texas. Despite some newer offerings like Tanger Outlets being somewhat nearby, the mall enjoys a decent amount of foot traffic. It offers 1.2 millions square feet of air conditioned shopping space -- a definite plus in the Texas heat.
It's possible that it's a popular spot for ghosts, as well. Odd happenings have been reported, and seem to be focused on the movie theater, branded as a Premiere 11 Cinema.
The two most common complaints are borderline poltergeist activity and voices. The poltergeist activity involves mostly electronic equipment, with power failures, equipment trouble, projector problems, and computer issues. A computer issue, power failure, or any of those other happenings are, by themselves, not terribly strange, but it's the frequency and the random nature that, when taken all together in total, seem to be more than just old wiring or bad computers.
The voices and whispers are much more telling of ghostly activity. Employees, especially projectionists, hear whispers and voices and frequently feel a presence with them in projection rooms. There isn't a projection room that seems more "haunted" than another -- the presence can appear in any of them. Employees also hear voices and whispers when the cinema is closed and quiet.
Before the move to 100% digital projection, the movies would sometimes stop in the middle of a showing. Mechanical failure can't be ruled out on an old film reel projector units, obviously, but the equipment was inspected time and time again, and even at one point replaced, and the stoppages kept happening.
